Superintendents are not licensed, though many builders require specific training. OSHA 30-Hour Construction is close to universal, and the AGC Supervisory Training Program is widely recognised. Safety credentials such as the BCSP Construction Health and Safety Technician are increasingly expected, and healthcare work often requires infection control risk assessment training. Federal projects add their own requirements.
The first pass is project type and size. A project manager or an owner reads for the kind of work you have run β commercial, industrial, residential, civil β the contract values involved, and the certifications the role requires, because a scope you have never worked at does not transfer from one job to the next. Describe the work in the units the trade uses: square footage, linear feet, tonnage, service calls per day, machines run, crew size. Add safety record and callback rate if you have them, because on a job site those are worth as much as speed. If you have run a crew or trained apprentices, say so plainly β that is the difference between a hand and a lead.

What is required depends on the role and the jurisdiction, and the posting sets it out: safety qualifications, a survey or estimating credential, professional licensure for some engineering posts, and site-specific cards.
