Line apprenticeships are registered programmes combining supervised hours with classroom work, and step progression, hours and content vary by programme, utility and whether it is union or merit shop. A CDL Class A is required early at most line contractors. Pole-top and bucket rescue training with CPR is standard and refreshed periodically, as is site safety training.
