What This Pumping Schedule Calculator Does
It divides the part of the day that is not your longest gap into equal intervals, one for each session after the first, and prints the resulting times. The schedule wraps past midnight where it needs to, so a late-evening start and an early-morning finish are handled without you doing the sums.

The Arithmetic Behind the Times
The day is twenty-four hours. Subtract the longest gap and you have the window the remaining sessions have to fit into. With n sessions there are n − 1 intervals inside that window, so each interval is (24 − longest gap) ÷ (n − 1) hours. Each session time is simply the start time plus a whole number of those intervals.
Work the default through by hand. Eight sessions with a four-hour long gap gives 20 ÷ 7 = 2.857 hours, which is 2 hours 51 minutes between sessions. Starting at 06:00, the eighth session lands 7 × 2.857 = 20 hours later, at 02:00. From 02:00 back to 06:00 is exactly the four-hour gap you asked for, so the cycle closes. At twenty minutes each, eight sessions is 160 minutes, or 2 hours 40 minutes of pumping in a day — a figure worth seeing written down, because it is usually larger than people expect.
Why an Even Schedule Is a Starting Grid, Not a Rule
Evenly spaced times are useful because they are easy to remember and easy to check against a working day, not because bodies run on a metronome. In practice sessions move. A meeting overruns, a baby wakes early, a commute is longer than planned. Nothing about a routine collapses because a session shifted by forty minutes.
