Arb VPN — Terms of Service

01 What Arb VPN is

Arb VPN is a free Android VPN. It encrypts your device's internet traffic and routes it through a server we operate, so the services you visit see that server's address rather than yours.

The service is funded entirely by advertising. You pay nothing. In exchange, the app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. If you find that unacceptable, the correct response is not to use the app.

There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no payment. The app identifies your device by a random identifier it generates locally. There is no paid tier in this release; the app contains some scaffolding for one, but no billing is implemented and nothing can be purchased.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old — or 16 where that is the applicable minimum age — to use Arb VPN. You must also be legally permitted to use a VPN where you are. VPN use is restricted or illegal in some countries. Checking that is your responsibility, not ours.

03 Acceptable use

You may not use Arb VPN to:

• Break the law. Any activity illegal in your jurisdiction, in Malaysia (where the server physically sits), or in the State of Florida, United States.
• Distribute child sexual abuse material, or any content depicting the exploitation of minors. This is an immediate, permanent termination with no notice, and we will report it.
• Attack or abuse networks. Port scanning, denial-of-service or amplification attacks, brute-forcing credentials, exploiting vulnerabilities, or gaining unauthorised access to any system.
• Send spam or run bulk unsolicited messaging, including email spam, SMS spam, comment or forum spam, or operating open relays.
• Distribute malware, run botnet command-and-control, phish, or host fraudulent content.
• Harass, stalk, threaten or dox anyone.
• Infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights.
• Resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute access to the service, or share your provisioned tunnel with third parties.
• Circumvent the fair-use cap described in section 5, including by re-registering to obtain a fresh allocation, using multiple device identifiers to multiply your allowance, or scripting the registration endpoint.
• Abuse the advertising that funds the service — click fraud, automated ad interaction, or tampering with the ad SDK.

3.1 Peer-to-peer and torrenting

P2P and BitTorrent traffic are not permitted on Arb VPN. The service runs on a single shared server whose bandwidth quota is shared with other production systems, and sustained P2P use degrades the service for every other user.

Being straightforward about enforcement: nothing in the current server configuration blocks, filters or detects P2P traffic. There is no port blocking, no deep packet inspection and no traffic classification — the server does plain NAT forwarding. In practice, this prohibition is enforced indirectly through the 5 GB daily bandwidth cap in section 5, and directly only when we receive a complaint (such as a copyright notice) that we can trace to a device. Do not read the absence of technical blocking as permission.

04 The VPN permission

Arb VPN uses Android's VPN service. Android will ask you to grant that permission explicitly, and the app explains why before asking. Granting it lets the app route your device's traffic through the tunnel. You can revoke it at any time in Android settings, which disconnects the VPN.

The app also requests: internet and network-state access (to connect and to detect network changes), foreground service permissions (Android requires a VPN to run as a visible foreground service), notification permission (to show the persistent connection notification Android requires), and boot-completed (only so that auto-connect, if you turn it on, can reconnect after a restart).

05 Fair use — the daily bandwidth cap

Each device may transfer up to 5 GB per calendar day, server time. Both uploaded and downloaded bytes count toward that total. The exact figure is a server-side setting and may be changed; 5 GB is the current value.

What happens when you exceed it:

1. Your device's WireGuard peer is removed, which stops further traffic through the tunnel. Enforcement runs periodically rather than instantly, so you may go somewhat over before it takes effect.
2. Your device is marked as capped. While you remain over the cap, attempting to re-register returns a "daily limit reached" error rather than issuing a fresh tunnel — re-registering is not a way around the cap.
3. The cap is automatic and temporary. Nothing is deleted, and you are not banned. At the next calendar day your usage resets to zero, the cap is lifted automatically, and you simply reconnect from the app. No manual intervention is needed on either side.

This limit exists because the VPN shares a server and a monthly bandwidth quota with a live commercial site. One unmetered heavy user could exhaust that quota and take an unrelated business offline.

06 Service provided as-is — no uptime guarantee

Read this carefully, because it is unusually literal here.

Arb VPN is a free service running on a single server, with no failover, no redundancy and no standby capacity. If that machine fails, is rebooted, loses network, or is taken offline by its hosting provider, the VPN is simply unavailable until it is restored. There is no second server to fall over to.

Accordingly, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not offer, and you should not rely on, any service level or uptime commitment. We may suspend, throttle, modify, or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice.

Do not rely on Arb VPN in any situation where a connection failure or a leak of your real IP address would cause you serious harm. If your safety depends on it, use a service that offers guarantees. This one does not.

07 Security disclaimer

The app encrypts traffic between your device and our server using WireGuard, and includes a kill switch and a DNS configuration intended to reduce leaks. No such protection is perfect. A VPN does not make you anonymous, does not protect you from malware, does not stop websites identifying you through logins, cookies or browser fingerprinting, and does not encrypt your traffic beyond our server — from there onward it travels the ordinary internet.

We make no claim that the service is untraceable or that it retains no data. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is retained.

08 Advertising

The app displays ads through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google's collection and use of data for advertising is governed by Google's own policies, and is described in section 2 of our Privacy Policy. We do not control the specific ads served, and their appearance is not an endorsement. We are not responsible for third-party goods, services or sites reached through an ad.

Do not attempt to interfere with ad delivery — that is the funding for a service you are receiving free.

09 Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by disconnecting, revoking the device in the app, or uninstalling it.

We may suspend or terminate your access — by revoking your device's tunnel — at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms, if your use threatens the stability, security or legality of the service, if we are required to by a hosting provider or a lawful authority, or if we discontinue the service.

Termination of a specific device does not create an obligation on us to preserve or return any data, and does not by itself erase records described in the Privacy Policy.

10 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the service — including any service interruption, connection failure, IP address exposure, DNS leak, data loss, or any action taken against you by a third party.
• Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to USD 50.
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You use Arb VPN at your own risk, and you are responsible for everything done through your tunnel.

11 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator against claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or of applicable law.

12 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted in the app or its Play Store listing. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

13 Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Florida, United States, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

14 Miscellaneous

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service.
